Democratic Principles and Group Process

hands-in_1.jpg

Our curriculum is an intentional combination of democratic classroom principles; leadership content including privilege, cultural competency; and group dynamic exercises meant to enhance trust and engagement within the group. The curriculum includes anything from videos and readings on cultural differences, to guest speakers from the community, to group projects developing service opportunities, to team building activities on social issues. Above all, the curriculum is responsive, taking into account the insight of our student led Service-Learning Executive Board and the feedback of students themselves.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed it’s the only thing that ever has” Margaret Meed

“Wisdom, the opposite of foolishness, is the use of successful intelligence and experience toward the attainment of a common good”
